What is Project Rectify? Simply, it's an effort to finish paying off a mountain of debt owed to talent by the old Devil's Due Publishing by the end of 2012.
In 2009 Devil's Due Publishing, Inc. was caught in a perfect storm of circumstances that led to its exit from the traditional publishing space. After more than two years of chipping away at debts and behind-the-scenes negotiations, DDP has finally been absolved of hundreds of thousands of dollars in previous debt claims. This puts us in a position to conquer the most important debt of all in 2012 - that of the creators who helped produce its books. If we deliver products that people love, and the fans are behind us, these debts can be paid off within the year and our total concentration can get back to making great comic-inspired content!
It's no one's responsibility to help, but the more support we can garner, the more good will from our readers and fans, the faster we can turn this situation around.
But we're not stopping there. Once the Devil's Due Publishing talent is paid, Project Rectify is going to continue, helping other creators who have been burned by the collapse or bankruptcy of OTHER companies, which has happened all too many times. It does not make up for the past, but it is our way of giving back when our fans have stuck by and supported us through our hardest times.
Which brings us to the NEW Devil's Due Entertainment, its prime directive being to contribute profits to Project Rectify through everything it does.
